The Texas stretch (around 178 miles) features nostalgic neon signs, vintage gas stations, and big attractions
Stops & Attractions in Texas:
Amarillo – Cadillac Ranch, Big Texan Steak Ranch
Shamrock – U Drop In Café, Magnolia Gas Station
Groom – Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ (19 stories), leaning water tower
McLean – Devil’s rope museum (barbed wire)
Replaced by I-40: Much of the original Route 66 is now Interstate 40, but the "business routes" or "loops" go through the historic centers of McLean, Groom, Amarillo, and Vega.
Timing: Stop in small towns to see restored neon signs, which are best viewed at night.

This gallery will evolve over time, I hope you come back and visit it over the next few months as more photos and videos are added. If you'd like to know when that happens send me a message - contact button below

You can only do so much research before you set out on a journey like travelling the entirety of Route 66. We are setting out with a list of things we want to see, but much of the success of these things is the opportunity to trip over some great surprises, and hopefully they are good surprises.
Every trip has some things that don't go as anticipated, and some of those are things that you really can't change - we will no doubt encounter some of those, and will leave a note on this site of what those were.
Everyone has favorite things in travel, and we will share ours and perhaps they will be your favorite things too.
