Route 66 in Illinois spans 300+ miles from Chicago to the Chain of Rocks Bridge, featuring quintessential roadside kitsch, vintage diners, and Lincoln history. Key stops include the Gemini Giant (Wilmington), Cozy Dog Drive-In (Springfield), Pontiac’s Murals, and the Pink Elephant Antique Mall (Livingston)
A few sites for your Illinois list
One more thing to consider - Highway 4, south of Springfield, is one of the old Route 66 original routes, running for 70 miles through rural Illinois

This gallery will evolve over time, I hope you come back and visit it over the next few months as more photos and videos are added. If you'd like to know when that happens send me a message - contact button below

You can only do so much research before you set out on a journey like travelling the entirety of Route 66. We are setting out with a list of things we want to see, but much of the success of these things is the opportunity to trip over some great surprises, and hopefully they are good surprises.
Every trip has some things that don't go as anticipated, and some of those are things that you really can't change - we will no doubt encounter some of those, and will leave a note on this site of what those were.
Everyone has favorite things in travel, and we will share ours and perhaps they will be your favorite things too.
